ORDINANCE NO: 2000-183 "AN ORDINANCE RENAMING DATAGAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TO DOMINADOR YOCOGO SR. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL" WHEREAS, the Barangay Council of Datagan, finds it just and fitting to change the name of Datagan Elementary School in honor of the late Dominador Yocogo, Sr, being the first public school teacher who had served the barangay; WHEREAS, for this reason, the Barangay Council of Datagan passed Resolution No. 01, s. of 2000 expressing their desire to change the name of Datagan Elementary School to Dominador Yocogo, Sr. Elementary School; WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, provides for the power of the Sanggunian in component cities and municipalities to change the name of public elementary schools for justifiable reasons and upon the recommendation of the Local School Board concern; WHEREAS, said resolution was favorably recommended by the City School Board through Resolution No. 03, s. of 2000; NOW THEREFORE, on motion duly seconded, be it Be it Ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Pagadian City in session assembled that: Section 1. - That Datagan Elementary School shall be named as Dominador Yocogo, Sr. Elementary School. Section 2. - That this ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval. ENACTED AND APPROVED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (6th City Council) of Pagadian City on its 101st Regular Session held on July 26, 2000 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall.
