ORDINANCE NO: 2000-176 "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY ORDINANCE NO. 2000-176, "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE CITY POUND FOR ASTRAY ANIMALS" SPECIFICALLY THE EXPLANATORY PORTION THEREOF" Be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled that: SECTION 1. - The explanatory portion of City Ordinance No. 1999-162 is hereby amended by inserting before the first explanatory statement the following statements: "WHEREAS, the National Rabies Prevention and Control Program is geared toward making the entire Philippines a rabies free country; WHEREAS, Rabies, as a disease, is a public health problem in the City of Pagadian as the same is contagious and is Ninety Nine point Nine (99.9%) Percent fatal;" SECTION 2. - This amendatory ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approval. ENACTED AND APPROVED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (6th City Council) of Pagadian City on its 82nd Regular Session held on March 1, 2000 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall.
