ORDINANCE NO: 1999-167 "AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ALL RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENTS WITHIN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN TO CLEAN THE SIDEWALK FRONTING THEIR ESTABLISHMENTS" WHEREAS, the City Government administration is relentlessly doing its all out best towards making the City of Pagadian one, if not, the cleanest city in the country by way of vigorously implementing the Clean and Green Program of the National Government; WHEREAS, in order to achieve this objective, it is deemed imperative to adopt a legislative measure that will particularly ensure that all sidewalks in the city will be well kempt, clean and in sanitary condition at all times; NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained as it is hereby ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled that: Section 1. The owners, lessees or occupants of both residential and commercial establishments situated within the City of Pagadian shall undertake the cleaning of the sidewalks and passageways fronting their establishment. Section 2. It shall be the duty of the above-mentioned persons to place all their garbage and wastes in sanitary garbage receptacle placed inside their yards and/or building and to bring the same out only when the garbage collector passes by or making the round of garbage collection in their respective areas; Section 3. All persons violating this Ordinance shall be meted with the penalty of: Warning - for first offense; and Fine of P3,000.00 - for the second and subsequent offenses. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect sixty (60) days after publication in a newspaper of general circulation. ENACTED AND APPROVED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (6th City Council) of Pagadian City on its 56th Regular Session held on August 18, 1999 at the Sangguniang Panlungsod Session Hall.
