ORDINANCE NO: 1999-161 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY ORDINANCE NO. 1999-161 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE CREATING AND ESTABLISHING THE PAGADIAN CITY INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES AND LIAISON OFFICE IN METRO MANILA AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR." Be it Ordained by this Sangguniang Panlungsod in session assembled that: SECTION 1. There shall be created and established the Pagadian City Investment Promotions and Liaison Office under the Office of the City Mayor which hereinafter shall be referred to as the "Office". SECTION 2. The Office shall take immediate charge of representing the general interests of the City at the national level and shall primarily be vested with the following primary duties and functions: - Help promote the interests of the City, particularly on the promotion of investment, at the national and international levels; - Establish and maintain linkages with national government agencies and other government instrumentalities as well as non-government organizations at the national level; - Follow up the various needs and requirements of the City government at the national level; - Represent the City government at the national level from time to time whenever so required; - Assist City Officials as well as residents of the City in their various business transactions at the national level; - Perform such other functions and duties that may be so required from time to time. SECTION 3. The following positions, whose functions and qualifications are defined by the Civil Service Commission in its qualification standards, are hereby created to manage and administer the office and whose status of employment shall be Co-Terminus with the appointing officer: - One (1) Executive Assistant I SG-14 - One (1) Administrative Officer I SG-11 - Three (3) Administrative Assistant I SG- 8 - One (1) Clerk IV SG- 8 - One (1) Driver II SG- 4 - One (1) Utility Worker II SG- 3 SECTION 4. The City Chief Executive shall be authorized to establish, acquire and/or lease a space/building in the area of Metro Manila for the Office, under such terms and conditions advantageous to the City Government, and to likewise acquire the necessary office equipments, furnitures and fixtures, supplies and office implements as well as service vehicle for the efficient operation of the Office. SECTION 5. There shall be appropriated separate funds under the Office of the City Mayor for the maintenance and other operating expenditures of the Office. SECTION 6. City Ordinance No. 1999-157 is hereby amended accordingly by this enactment. SECTION 7. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approval.
