ORDINANCE NO. 12
"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 1, 2 AND 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 121, S. 1949, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ALL STORE OWNERS OR TENANTS OF PERMANENT OR SEMI-PERMANENT HOUSES; CINEMATOGRAPHS, RICE AND CORN MILLS, FACTORIES, FURNITURE SHOPS, BEAUTY SHOPS, TAILORING SHOPS, VEHICLE REPAIR SHOPS, ELECTRIC PLANTS, LUMBER YARDS, BAKERIES, RESTAURANTS, CARENDERIAS, BAZAARS, BODEGAS AND STORES WITHIN THE POBLACION (FROM THE WHARF TO ARELLANO STREET AND FROM GATAS CREEK AND LUMBIA SPRING) MUNICIPALITY OF PAGADIAN, TO PROVIDE WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER OF NOT LESS THAN 500 LBS. CAPACITY"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD OF PAGADIAN THAT:
SECTION 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 121, series of 1949, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION (1) - It shall be the duty of all the owners or tenants of permanent or semi-permanent buildings and establishments, schools and stores within the Poblacion of Pagadian City (from the Wharf to Arellano St. and from Gatas Creek to Lumbia Spring) to provide themselves with fire extinguisher under the following specifications:
Drug Stores - 10 lbs. Carenderias - 10 lbs.
Cinematographs - 25 lbs. Restaurants - 20 lbs.
Rice/Corn Mills - 25 lbs. Bazaars - 20 lbs.
Factories - 25 lbs. Schools - 10 lbs./storey
Furniture Shops - 20 lbs. Hotels - 20 lbs./storey
Beauty Shops - 5 lbs. Banks - 20 lbs.
Tailoring Shops - 5 lbs. Cocktail Lounge - 15 lbs.
Vehicle Repair Shops - 30 lbs. Hospitals - 20 lbs.
Electric Plants - 50 lbs. Office - 10 lbs.
Lumber Yards - 20 lbs. Gasoline Stations - 30 lbs.
Bakeries - 20 lbs. Barber Shops - 10 lbs.
Sari-sari Stores - 5 lbs. Bodegas - 10 lbs.
SECTION 2. It shall be the duty of the owners of the fire extinguisher to assist extinguishing the fire using their own apparatus in order to prevent the spread of conflagration.
SECTION 3. Any person or persons found violating the provisions of this Ordinance, or portion hereof, shall upon conviction, pay a fine of not less than One Hundred Pesos (P100.00) or not more than Three Hundred Pesos (P300.00) or suffer an imprisonment of not more than thirty (30) days or both depending upon the discretion of the Court.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
ENACTED AND APPROVED by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Pagadian City, during its 11th Regular Session held on November 7, 1977.
