ORDINANCE NO. 29
"AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING ANY PERSON OR PERSONS, PARTNERSHIP AND/OR AGENCY FROM OPERATING, CONDUCTING, ENGAGING AND/OR MAINTAINING ANY AND ALL FORMS OF ILLEGAL GAMBLING WITHIN THE CITY OF PAGADIAN AND IMPOSING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY BOARD OF PAGADIAN, THAT:
SECTION 1. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, partnership and/or agency to operate, conduct, engage, participate, promote or maintain any and all forms of illegal gambling or any game of chance except those which are permitted or allowed by existing laws or ordinances of the City of Pagadian.
SECTION 2. It shall be also unlawful for any person or persons, natural or juridical, to conduct, operate, engage, participate, promote or maintain any gambling permitted by laws on days other than those allowed or specified by law.
SECTION 3. It is hereby declared illegal for any person, natural or juridical, to be come an agent, sub-agent, canvasser, solicitor and/or promoter employed by person or entity mentioned in Section 1, hereof, either with or without consideration.
SECTION 4. It shall also be unlawful for any person, natural or juridical, to allow any illegal gambling to operated in his/her yard, residence or appurtenant thereto.
SECTION 5. Penalties:
a. Any person or persons, partnership or agency convicted for violating Sections 1 and 2 hereof, shall pay a fine of not less than P100.00 but not more than P200.00 and in case of insolvency, a subsidiary imprisonment shall be imposed upon such infractors at the discretion of the Court, and
b. Any person, natural or juridical, convicted for violating Sections 3 and 4 hereof, shall pay a fine of not less than P50.00 but not more than P100.00 or suffer and imprisonment of not less than 20 days but not more than 40 days, such fine and imprisonment at the discretion of the Court.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
ENACTED AND APPROVED by the City Board of Pagadian during its 9th Session on September 11, 1970.
