ORDINANCE NO. 17


"AN ORDINANCE REGULATING VEHICLE TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN MOVEMENTS UPON ENTERING THE INTERSECTIONS OF MABINI AND BONIFACIO STREETS AND THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY AND THE INTERSECTIONS OF MABINI-JAMISOLA STREETS AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF "

	BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY BOARD OF PAGADIAN, THAT:


      SECTION 1. TURNING AT INTERSECTIONS: -


          a. The driver of a vehicle coming from the East and intending to go to the South or the Wharf area, shall approach the intersection through the correct lane up to and beyond the traffic box at Mabini-National Highway Crossing and shall turn left passing along Western side of the traffic box upon the direction of the Traffic Officer.
          b. The driver of a vehicle coming from the South and intending to go to the West, shall approach the intersection through the correct lane up to and beyond the traffic box at Mabini-National Highway Crossing and shall turn left passing along the Northern side of the traffic box upon the direction of the Traffic Officer.
          c. The driver of a vehicle coming from the North and intending to go to the East, shall approach the intersection through the correct lane up to and beyond the traffic box at Mabini-National Highway Crossing and shall turn left passing along the Southern side of the traffic box upon the direction of the Traffic Officer.


      SECTION 2.	 PEDESTRIAN LANES: -


     a. Pedestrian intending to cross from either side of Mabini and Bonifacio Streets on Crossing of the National Highway whether going Eastward, Westward, Northward and Southward, shall walk within the 3.5 meters wide pedestrian lane defined within white lines drawn or painted on the pavement.
     b. Pedestrian intending to cross from either side of Mabini and Jamisola Streets Crossing whether Eastward, Westward, Northward or Southward, shall walk within the 3.5 meters wide pedestrian lane defined within white lines drawn or painted on the pavement.


      SECTION 3.	 The driver of a vehicle, on reaching the pedestrian lane on the intersection shall bring to a full stop his vehicle even without a direction or signal from the Traffic Officer, and shall proceed only upon direction of the Traffic Officer.


      SECTION 4.	 "ONE WAY TRAFFIC" at Baltazar Street and Ramon Magsaysay Avenue is abolished and shall be opened to traffic from either direction.


      SECTION 5. PENALTIES: -


          a. Any driver of a vehicle upon conviction for violation of Sections 1 and 3 of this Ordinance, shall pay a fine of not less than Five (P5.00) Pesos nor more than Fifty (P50.00) Pesos or suffer an imprisonment of not less than five (5) days nor more than fifty (50) days or both such fine and imprisonment at the discretion of the Court.


      SECTION 6.	 REPEALING CLAUSE: - Any ordinance or part thereof inconsistent with any provision of this Ordinance is hereby deemed amended or repealed.


      SECTION 7. EFFECTIVITY CLAUSE: - This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approval.


      ENACTED by the City Board of Pagadian during its Regular Session on April 6, 1970.
