ORDINANCE NO. 12
"AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF SLAUGHTERHOUSE AND ITS FACILITIES, AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF "
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY BOARD OF PAGADIAN, THAT:
SECTION 1. Any person who desires to use the slaughterhouse and its facilities for the slaughter of pigs, cattle, carabaos, goats, sheeps and dressing of chickens for private consumption may be allowed, Provided, that he engages the services of a duly licensed butcher; and Provided, further, that all the fees due the City Government are fully paid.
SECTION 2. Meat vendors in the City public market are required to submit to the Office of the City Treasurer a list of names of duly licensed butchers who will undertake the slaughter of their livestocks and the dressing of chickens for sale in the City Public Market.
SECTION 3. That for the services rendered by the butchers the following maximum rates shall be charged, to wit:
Pig (per head) P2.00
Cattle (per head) 8.00
Carabao (per head) 8.00
Horse (per head) 6.00
Goat (Per head) 3.00
Dressing of chickens or the like 0.10
SECTION 4. No person or persons shall be allowed to enter the slaughterhouse and use its facilities except duly licensed butchers as mentioned in Sections 1 and 2, in the performance of their occupation.
SECTION 5. That after using the slaughterhouse facilities, the butcher concerned must remove the waste and clean the area used by him.
SECTION 6. In the event of a SIT-DOWN STRIKE by licensed butchers, the City Government through the City Mayor shall employ men to perform such services in the interest of public welfare.
SECTION 7. The Market Superintendent or his duly authorized representative shall closely supervise the butchering of livestocks inside the slaughterhouse of the City Public Market to insure the health and safety of the consuming public, and the order inside the slaughterhouse premises.
SECTION 8. Any person or persons, natural or juridical, convicted for violation of this ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not less than twenty-five (P25.00) Pesos but not more than fifty (P50.00) Pesos or by an imprisonment of not less than ten (10) days but not more than twenty (20) days or both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court.
SECTION 9. Any ordinance inconsistent with the provision of this ordinance is hereby repealed or abrogated.
SECTION 10. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its approval.
