ORDINANCE NO. 12
"AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING MUFFLERS OR SILENCERS ON MOTOR VEHICLES EXHAUST WITHIN THE POBLACION OR SUBURBAN OR PAGADIAN AND IMPOSING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF PAGADIAN, THAT:
SECTION 1. All owners and/or drivers of motor vehicles running within the poblacion and suburban areas of Pagadian are required to install muffler or silencer with the engine exhaust of their motor vehicles to minimize the noise and disturbance created by the engine exhaust.
Suburban areas of Pagadian are those areas included in San Pedro District, Santa Lucia District, Balangasan District, Gatas District, San Jose District and the Lumbia and PC area.
SECTION 2. Any driver and/or owner of motor vehicles without muffler or silencer installed with the engine exhaust is strictly prohibited from driving the same within the poblacion and suburban areas of Pagadian.
SECTION 3. Any driver and/or owner of motor vehicle without muffler or silencer installed with the engine exhaust, convicted by the Court for violation of this Ordinance, shall pay a fine of not less than Ten (P10.00) Pesos nor more than Thirty (P30.00) Pesos in the discretion of the Court. In case of insolvency, a subsidiary imprisonment of one (1) day per One (P1.00) Peso may be imposed.
SECTION 4. This Ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
