ORDINANCE NO. 1


"AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING VOTE BUYING AND LAVISH SPENDING IN BARRIO ELECTIONS AND IMPOSING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF"


	BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF PAGADIAN, THAT:

	SECTION 1. It is unlawful and prohibited for any person or candidate to buy votes or to spend lavishly in barrio elections.

	SECTION 2.	 Any person convicted by the Court for violation of this Ordinance shall pay a fine of not more than Two Hundred (P200.00) Pesos or shall suffer an imprisonment of not more than six (6) months or both, such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court.

	SECTION 3.	 Any ordinance or part thereof inconsistent with this Ordinance is hereby amended, repealed or abrogated.


      SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect on January 3, 1968.
