ORDINANCE NO. 14


"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBERED FOUR SERIES OF 1959, SECTION 2 THEREOF SUCH THAT THE PLAYING OF "MAHJONG" BE ALLOWED OR PERMITTED TO BE PLAYED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS ONLY AND PROVIDING REGULATIONS ON THE PLAYING OF MAHJONG AND IMPOSING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF"


	BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF PAGADIAN, THAT:

	SECTION 1. No person, natural or juridical, shall be allowed to play "mahjong" without first securing the necessary permit from the Mayor or his duly authorized representative and paying the required fees.

      SECTION 2.	The playing of mahjong in the Municipality of Pagadian shall be allowed during Sundays and holidays only. Any person playing mahjong or causing the playing of mahjong during days other than Sundays or holidays shall be subjected to the penalties provided in this Ordinance.


      SECTION 3.	Any person or persons convicted by the Court for violation of any provision of this Ordinance, shall be punished by a fine of not less than Fifty (P50.00) Pesos nor more than One Hundred (P100.00) Pesos or an imprisonment of not less than one (1) month nor more than three (3) months, or both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court. In case of juridical persons such as Directors shall be held responsible for violation hereof.


      SECTION 4.	This Ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
