ORDINANCE NO. 12
"AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING LITTERING WITHIN THE BUSY COMMERCIAL AREAS DESIGNATING HEREUNDER THE PENALIZING VIOLATION THEREOF"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF PAGADIAN, THAT:
SECTION 1. The premises or areas facing along the:
a. National Highway from Sikatuna Street up to Araullo Street;
b. Mabini Street from Cabrera Street up to the Principe Hotel are designated as the areas within which this Ordinance is enforceable.
SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful and prohibited for any person to litter any waste material or garbage within the premises or areas designated in Section 1, hereof.
SECTION 3. "Waste Material or Garbage" under this Ordinance includes the following:
a. papers
b. cigarette butts
c. match sticks
d. fruit peeling
e. wrappers
f. other wastes
SECTION 4. Any person found violating this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, pay a fine of Five (P5.00) Pesos for the first offense, Ten (P10.00) Pesos for the second and succeeding offense or suffer an imprisonment of ten (10) days for the first offense, five (5) days for the second and succeeding offense, or both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approval.
