ORDINANCE NO. 20
"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION TWO AND SECTION THREE OF ORDINANCE NUMBERED EIGHTEEN, CURRENT SERIES, IN RE: AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING AND DECLARING ILLEGAL THE ACT OF BUYING VOTE DURING ELECTION AND IMPOSING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF"
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF PAGADIAN THAT:
SECTION 1. It is unlawful and prohibited for any person to buy vote or votes during election time.
SECTION 2. It is unlawful and prohibited for any person to give or cause to be given rice, corn grits, clothing and/or other kinds or form of aid to any voter or his family for the purpose of influencing the vote of the recipient in favor of a candidate or candidates within the period of thirty (30) days before the election day.
SECTION 3. Any person found violating the provisions of Section 1 and 2 of this Ordinance, shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not less than Fifty (P50.00) Pesos nor more than Two Hundred (P200.00) Pesos and by an imprisonment of not less than Two (2) months nor more than Six (6) months in the discretion of the Court.
SECTION 4. Any ordinance or part thereof inconsistent with the provision of this Ordinance is hereby amended or repealed.
SECTION 5. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately on November 4, 1963.
