ORDINANCE NO. 5

















AN ORDINANCE REGULATING AND IMPOSING FEES ON OUTGOING CORN AND/OR PALAY AND OTHER SIMILAR AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS FROM THE MUNCIPALITY OF PAGADIAN.





BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF PAGADIAN THAT

      Section 1. Because of the large scale destruction of the agricultural products of this and neighboring municipalities by the rats, it becomes necessary that the shipment of agricultural products from this municipality be regulated so that and in order that this municipality ma not suffer from hunger, dire need and scarcity of the staple food.  In order that the municipal council and the Municipal Treasurer shall have an accurate knowledge of the estimated production of this municipality and the neighboring municipalities, statistical figures of these outgoing products are necessary.










      Section 2. All outgoing shipments of corn and/or palay from Pagadian shall be subject to the following charges:


     a. Clean Palay Rice per cavan ......................................... P0.05
     b. Corn Grits per cavan ................................................... P0.05
     c. Palay per cavan ........................................................... P0.025
     d. Corn  per cavan ........................................................... P0.025
     e. Tiki-tiki and similar by products .................................. P0.02

      Section 3. payment shall be made to the Municipal Treasurer or to his authorized representative upon shipment of said products.


      Section 4. Failure of any persons, natural or juridical, to comply with the provisions of this Ordinance shall upon conviction punished by a fine of not less than Ten (P10.00) Pesos or by an imprisonment of not less than (Five) days, nor more than Six (6) months or both fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.


      Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
