AN ORDINANCE PREVENTING HYDROPHOBIA OR RABIES ACQUIRED FROM BITES OF DOGS OR ANY SUSCEPTIBLE ANIMALS.





BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF PAGADIAN THAT:









      Section 1. All owners of, and all persons having control or possession of dogs and other animals liable to contract or convey Hydrophobia, shall effectually muzzle, or otherwise, restraint said dogs and other animals;








      Section 2. Effectual restraint as above used shall be understood to mean muzzling, keeping in a kennel or other special enclosure, or keeping in a leash.  A drawing of a suitable muzzle approved by the society for the prevention of cruelty to animals, will be obtainable upon request from the office of the District Health Officer, Pagadian, Zamboanga del Sur, at nominal price.



	Section 3. Every dog six month of age or more, shall be vaccinated once a year, by the Provincial Veterinarian of the Health Personnel ion a locality or by any other Private Veterinarian, with "Veterinarian Rabies Vaccine," for which a fee of One Peso (P1.00) shall be charge.

	Section 4. Dogs should not be permitted to run at large, but shall be properly confined of their owners premises and only to be allowed away from same, when under proper restraint by a responsible individual.



	Section 5. All dogs that appear or roaming on Public streets, plazas, market, cines, carenderias, restaurants, bakeries, and so fourth, without the necessary muzzle, shall be humanly killed by the Municipal Police, members of the Constabulary, the Barrio Lieutenant, Local Health Personnel, or any other person or persons with a duty to enforce the law.

	Section 6. Any owner of, or person having control or possession of any other dog or other animal liable to contract or convey Hydrophobia, within the limit of the territory, who shall fail to muzzle or to submit for Veterinarian Rabies Vaccine, the same as above, required, is liable to a fine of not more than One Hundred Pesos (P100.00), or both such fine and imprisonment at the discretion of the court and each day continuance of the condition shall constitute a separate distinct offense.

	Section 7. Any ordinance or part of ordinance which is in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance, is hereby repealed.

	Section 8. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage.
