ORDINANCE NO. 6
AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING STORE OWNERS OR THEIR REPRESENTATIVES IN THE POBLACION, PAGADIAN, ZAMBOANGA, TO PROVIDE THEMSELVES WITH THE FIRE EQUIPMENT KNOWN AS "PHONEME" FOR THE PROTECTION OF THEIR RESPECTIVE ESTABLISHMENTS AGAINST FIRE, THE CAUSES OF WHICH ARE GASOLINE, OIL, PETROLEUM, ALCOHOL AND THE LIKE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF PAGADIAN THAT:
SECTION 1. FIRE EQUIPMENT. The fire equipment provided in this Ordinance is white powder which is known as "PHONEME". This powder has proven to be effective in fighting class "B" fires, which are caused by gasoline, oil, petroleum, alcohol and the like.
SECTION 2. PERSON REQUIRE TO PROVIDE THEMSELVES WITH THE FIRE EQUIPMENT MENTIONED IN SECTION ONE HEREOF: All owners of stores or their representatives established in the Poblacion, this Municipality, with the fire equipment mentioned in Section 1 hereof, in accordance with the following limitations:
(a) The owner of a store containing gods or merchandise
valued approximately from P1,000 to 5,000 ---- One-half
(1/2) barrel of Phoneme
or 15 pounds
(b) The owner of the store containing goods or merchandize
valued approximately over P5,000 --------------- one (1)
barrel of Phoneme or
30 pounds
SECTION 3. DEMONSTRATION AS TO THE PROPER USE OF PHONEME: The Chief of Police or his representative shall be charge with the responsibilities of conducting demonstration from time to time as to the proper use o "Phoneme", the fire equipment provided in this Ordinance, for the purpose of acquainting all parties concerned with the proper use of said fire equipment.
SECTION 4. PENALTY: Any person found violating the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not less than Twenty Pesos (P20.00), nor more than Fifty Pesos (P50.00), or by imprisonment of not less than Ten (10) days, nor more than Twenty Five (25) days, or both fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court.
