ORDINANCE NO. 101



AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE ESTABLISHMENT AND OPERATION OF BARBER SHOPS WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITY OF PAGADIAN AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.



BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF PAGADIAN THAT:

	SECTION 1. No barber shop shall be permitted to operate unless it has been duly licensed and registered in the office of the Municipal Treasurer;



	SECTION 2. The Municipal Treasurer shall not issue a license for the operation of a barber shop without the favorable recommendation of the local Health Officer of his duly authorized representative;



	SECTION 3. Every barber when engage in any operation of his trade must be neat and personally clean, and shall wear clean shirt or coat, and shall keep his finger nails short and well trimmed and he shall thoroughly wash and clean his hands before operating on any person.

	SECTION 4. Barber shall thoroughly clean and disinfect every razor, comb, scissors, clippers, or other implements in hot water or in an approve disinfectant solution before using same for operation on any person, he shall furnish clean towel for each customer and shall apply powder to any means of a fresh and clean towel.

	SECTION 5. No barber shall use puff-ball for applying powder on any person or for any other purposes, nor shall any barber apply any piece of alum, camphor, or other substance used for arresting bleeding to any person which has previously applied for alike purpose to another.

	SECTION 6. Every barber shop shall have ample provisions for boiling water and shall keep the same hot all the time.

	SECTION 7. It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business of cleaning the ears, scrapping the eyelids, or barbering upon any street, lane, alley or public square.

	SECTION 8. No person or persons shall be permitted to engage in this trade without first securing a medical certificate from the local President of Sanitary Division or from the Municipal Maternity & Charity Clinic Physician, attesting that the applicant or applicants are free from any communicable disease.










	SECTION 9. Any person or persons who shall violate the provisions of this ordinance in part of in whole shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not more than Two Hundred Pesos (P200.00) or imprisonment by not more than Six Month, in the discretion of the Court.

	SECTION 10. Any ordinance or ordinance which are in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

	SECTION 11. This ordinance shall take effect upon its approval.
